- Jane Austen Ball Kit (under development)
- How to put on a Jane Austen Ball that is of interest to youth. LA case study and other information. The dress-up, role playing scene can be attractive to youth (teen-20s)
- Summary bullet point ideas
- Encourage member groups to support and subsidize community dances (e.g. Cathy Vogt Philly events suported by GCD)
- College campuses: bring the dancing to them. Transportation is difficult for students. Expense is also an issue.
- Local groups or individuals may be able to sponsor scholarships for youth at special dances (e.g. Playford Ball in Oregon)
- Hire young and old musicians together - intergenerational is good.
- Promote your young callers and musicians - let others know, both locally and nationally (CDSS-youth may be able to help networking)
- CDSS may be able to help with startup grants/guarentees for local events with youth focus (e.g. May Gadd fund).
- CDSS-youth may start a phone/email mentoring network for young leaders.
- Have Rapper teams do workshops in schools?
- The bar used to be lower for leaders and musicians; now it is hard for youngsters to "break in". Give them a break.
