Ideas for future initiatives
- CDSS has special summer camp youth scholarship (application) and is considering adding more such scholarships, particularly at weeks where there are youth on staff.
- Hire young and old musicians together at camps and other events - intergenerational is good.
- Promote young callers and musicians - CDSS-youth may be able to help networking.
- CDSS can help with startup grants/guarentees for local events with youth focus (e.g. May Gadd fund).
- CDSS-youth may start a phone/email mentoring network for young leaders.
- Possible weekend or long-weekend event with content and advertising focused on youth (under 35 crowd). Shorter than week long camps, so less expensive and less time commitment; two potentially enabling factors with young dancers and musicians.
